Camping

What an awesome weekend! We went camping in Door County's Peninsula State Park. It was a blast even with the not-so-perfect weather. We stayed warm all bundled up together (yep- all 7 of us) in the tent at night.

Brian built up the side of our snowmobile trailer so that we could bring all of our camping gear and bikes...he did a fantastic job!

It was a group effort to pitch the tent...even TJ helped!

I love the look on his face here!

We did about 20 miles of biking total as a family in the two days we camped. It was beautiful scenery through the woods on the trails!

Lazy and missed posts lately

I know that I have been no so good about regularly posting lately. But I do have a good excuse! I have been really busy editing lots of senior photos! I have been having a blast spending almost every Wednesday at the Green Bay Botanical gardens shooting sessions. Check out my latest work here: http://sti-photography.blogspot.com

The joys of being 4 years old

Ahhhhh....the joys of being 4 years old again. Natalie got a new bike last night. I have never seen her so excited. She is zooming around, and I am sure that it will only be a couple of weeks before she will be off training wheels. I wish someone would give me a new bike and all of a sudden life would be this grand! :)

Surprises when weeding the garden...

I know. Not very exciting to most of you "city folk". But today, as a family, we weeded our garden for about 2 hours. You should have seen the joy and awe on the kids faces when Alex found a nest of what must of been day old mole rats. Awhhhhhh....

Shanty Days!

It was Shanty Days in Algoma this weekend. This is what summer is all about. Spending time with family, small town parades and home made sandwiches to eat on the parade route. Life is good! :)

New additions to the family

Meet Rosie and Dillinger. They are two kitties that we adopted from the Humane Society. Rosie is 2 years old and is the calico. She is a tiny cat and oh, so sweet! She is Mackenzie's kitty. Dillinger is the striped tiger kitty and he is just a baby at 4 months old. He is Alex's, and is an absolute nut-job! :) The kids set up "shop" in their rooms, complete with litter boxes and all. Brian and Mackenzie spent a night out in the driveway a couples weeks ago and built this cat scratcher tree from old formica countertops and an old mailbox post...talk about recycling! Anyway, the little kids in the house are in love as well. Both seem to take well to the chaos of living with 5 children---at least so far!
